Excellent and Enjoyable stay
We enjoyed an exceptional family stay in Grange, the gite was very large and had all the comforts we expected. Having access to the internet and English TV was an absolute bonus for the kids. This was before the enjoyed the swimming pool.
We would recommend Grange to those families that want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living and the absolute peace and quiet of Countryside living. We were well looked after by Oie and dealing with Claire was very easy and she responded very quickly. Overall, an very enjoyable stay. Many thanks Claire.

Lovely Gite in France
Just come back from staying in the lovely Tournesol Gite. What a gem! The property was lovely and clean upon arrival. It has everything you need to make your holiday relaxed and welcoming. The kitchen was fully equipped, lounge had comfy sofas and large T.V (English channels), WiFi, books to read and board games, BBQ outside to use and a barn full of games to play. There was also a separate laundry room. We certainly made use of the table tennis, but there was darts, badminton, table football, croquet and several bikes free to use. As the area is flat, it is perfect for those who wish to cycle on the quiet country lanes around the property.
The pool area (fenced) was lovely, with modern sun loungers and large parasols to use. The heated pool was great; especially when the weather was hot. The Gite is in a quiet, peaceful location and only a 10 minute drive to the local supermarket. There are local villages to explore and in less than an hour you can visit various attractions: high ropes, kayaking, lakes with beaches, a zoo and much more.
Whilst we were there, we had the pleasure of meeting the owners; Claire and Nigel and their family. They were so welcoming and easy to talk with. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They gave us suggestions of where to visit and places to eat. The Walnut Tree is a must if you like home-made burgers.
Thank you Claire and Nigel for thinking of everything one would need for a perfect holiday- because that’s exactly what we had. I cannot recommend this property enough. We will most certainly be back.

Beautiful and Historic Gite
We had a lovely week in the 4 bedroom Tournesol. Plenty of living space inside and out. House has loads of games and books for all ages, kitchen large and well equipped but we spent every evening outside with the barbecue.
Weather was amazing: we had 36-37 degrees on a few days and the pool was perfect, but beware lack of a/c means it can get hot at night so you need the fans on. The pool house would really benefit from a loo as it can get really frustrating taking little ones all the way back to the house….
The games barn has table tennis, table football and darts plus bikes for all ages (some really good suggested bike rides in the welcome pack and anything heading north was flat as a pancake).
The local markets were worth a trip – there was a nice meat van that seemed to appear at a few of them with an English woman on the counter and gave the BBQ done variety.
Location really is very quiet and the middle of nowhere – you can’t walk to any shops, bars, restaurants etc which might be an issue for some, but the big supermarket is <10 mins drive. The fields around were full of sunflowers and beautiful. La Rochelle was worth a day trip as was Vallée des Singes which was only 15 mins drive. They really do have monkeys in the trees all around you!
The team that Claire has looking after the properties came and introduced themselves and were very friendly.

Superb… I very much hope we will return
We knew instantly upon arriving that we were going to have a great holiday. The cottage is excellent. Great care has been taken with everything from the furnishings to the local guide. Every morning started with breakfast ourside in the sun. Day time by the pool or sitting in the shade when the sun too hot. In the evening we played table tennis and darts whilst the barbecue cooked away and relaxed as the sun came down; many times wandering off to view the simply magnificent fields of sunflowers. We felt truly looked after from beginning to end. Thank you for such a great holiday.

Lovely Gite ideal for exploring the local area
We had a lovely relaxing break at Arbre de Cerise with our four children. The pool was super and the kids also made great use of the games room despite the very hot weather. The house had everything we required and we found lots to do in the area including some nice restaurants in the local towns. Futuroscope was a highlight too. Overall, this is a very nicely restored building with top class furniture and fittings, well maintained and with modern comforts.

Wonderful holiday with all the family
It took a while to find the perfect place for our combination of family but this property was literally made for us.
There was all the modcons you would expect and all the homely extras you would like. The UK TV was a nice extra to have if you wanted to watch TV in the evening.
The pool was about the best we’ve had on this type of holiday and was great that it was heated for the kids. We spent most of our time out there enjoying it and having BBQ’s in the evening.
The booking process was really easy and Claire, the owner was great to deal with.
I can say we’ll definitely be back.
We really enjoyed having the bikes, which there was a huge supply of. The garden was so big and great for the kids to run around in.

What a Place!
My wife and I came here for a few days of relaxation, and that is exactly what we got.
The location is so beautiful and off the beaten track, so not a place to come if you want a lively environment, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The gite itself is so well equipped and beautifully furnished. The covered sitting area was a bonus as although we came here late in the season the weather was hot and sunny and we used that a lot.
We also used the superb swimming pool every day, and were impressed at the standard of the outdoor furniture as well.
English TV and the availability of a good wifi were also appreciated.
The “caretakers” were there if we wanted them but did not make their presence felt, and Claire was very helpful and communicative with our booking. The deposit was returned very promptly after our stay.
We could not fault this place, and plan to go back – soon!

We spent two fantastic weeks at Arbre de Cerise and have already booked to return next year. The gite is comfortable, spotless and the best equipped we’ve ever known in years of renting in France. The owners have genuinely thought about the needs of those looking to rent and provided it in style. We just wanted to enjoy the tranquility of the pool and rural location during our stay but there were lots of options nearby for those looking for more. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful week at Arbre de Cerise. The gite was immaculate, and had everything in it you could possibly need! The owners have really thought about making it very comfortable and lovely! The pool was an absolute dream, temperature perfect, our 6 and 8 year old’s were in it all day long. The table tennis and darts were also well used and there is a really good selection of bikes to use for free!We highly recommend this gite.

We had a fantastic week at Arbre de Cerise – many thanks! The house(s) with the pool is beautiful – we loved the enclosed grounds too, great as we had two little ones with us. The barn with the table tennis was well used, as were some of the bikes. Most of the time we lazed around the pool though, the weather was lovely, just right! Oie and Andy were very friendly and helpful. We have, as a group, stayed at several large houses in France, mainly Dordogne, but yours was the best! So, we would like to ask if we could reserve a week for next summer – w/c August 17th 2013 if possible?
Pimm Family, August 2012 (staying in all three gites)
Arbre de Cerise certainly lived up to its expectations we had everything we needed and more. The gites are well equipped and all maintained to a high standard. We had the most relaxing time spending our days by the pool, cycling, horse riding or visiting nearby markets. Our trip to the nearby Valley of the monkeys was worthwhile too. You can certainly get away from it all here! The kids had a great time making full use of the games room and pool. Definitely would go back, so many more things to see and do!
Miller Family, August 2012 (staying in Tournesol)
We had a lovely holiday thanks, and happy to give you feedback. Clear that you take real pride in the gites and you can see that in the fixtures and fittings. Positives:
– furniture is high standard and welcome change
– kitchens well equipped
– nice to have good TV and iPod docking stations, and good supply of books in book shelves
– lovely bed linen
– great pool and games room and bikes are a nice touch
Fells Family, August 2012 (staying in Tournesol)
We stayed in Tournesol at Arbre de Cerise for a week in July. It has to be one of the most relaxing weeks holiday we have ever had. The gite was perfect for our party of 2 families; one of 3 and one of 4. Bedrooms were all large with plenty of storage space and very comfy beds! The space outside and around the pool area was superb. We had two 17 year olds and two 10 year olds who made the most of barn with the table tennis, darts, cycles and table football!
The heated pool was a great hit with everyone. The local villages are delightful with lovely markets and trips further afield to La Rochelle and Cognac are a must. Arbre de Cerise is the perfect place to get away from it all with all the luxuries of home from home at your fingertips. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.
Andrew Family, July 2012 (Staying in Marguerite)
We had a lovely time at Arbre de Cerise and were really happy with our accommodation. The swimming pool was fantastic and all the little extras made such a difference to the holiday, especially when bringing an active little boy (inflatables, bikes, games in the barn etc.).
Thomson Family, July 2012 (staying in Coquelicot)
We had a wonderful time at Arbre de Cerise and it was lovely for all the family to be together again. We spent lots of time by/in the pool and some of the children grew webbed feet by the end, they hardly had time to eat they were having so much fun.
We cycled around the countryside, some walked, some jogged and some just lazed. It was wonderful. We went to a local Ferme Auberge one evening just outside Sauze for a jazz/dinner evening which was fun and visited the villages nearby and had a shopping spell in Poitiers. We sat out under the tree most evenings for dinner.
