It’s lovely to see our guests enjoying their holidays at the gites. Some choose to spend their days by the pool, venturing no further than the local markets to pick up some delicious fresh fruits/vegetables/cheeses/fish/meats for dinner, whilst others travel slightly further afield – to the coast, or to one of the larger cities, shopping or sightseeing.
The summer of 2013 (although we’ve got a few weeks to go yet!) has been hot and sunny with the average temperatures in the high 20’s / low 30’s. This was dramatically punctuated on Friday 2nd August by a severe storm blowing through the region, flattening crops and uprooting trees. We saw the devastation for ourselves when we arrived the next day, with a large branch broken off our cherry tree and a couple of other smaller trees down in the garden.
But that event aside, the days have dawned bright and clear and typically guests start their days with coffee and croissants sitting under the cherry tree and end their days gazing up at the multitude of stars with a glass of wine.
By the end of September we will have welcomed over 100 people into the gites and overwhelmingly the feedback that we receive is
“we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and the gite was fantastic with everything we could want and more!”
which is the best news ever as that’s all we ever hoped to achieve when we started letting out the gites three years ago. So ‘thank you’ to our lovely guests and we hope to see you all again soon.
